How tough to access/replace windshield washer pump?
getting weak spray/dribble (yea, it could be a "personal problem " on the drivers side squirter. Left side great. I have replaced both squirters and blew out the line where it T's over to the drivers side.
Still weak..
I'm thinking its most likely low pressure coming off the pump and maybe it's time to replace
I haven't crawld under there to inspect placement of pump. Thought while there I would also replace the reservoir.
On an 04 truck all you have to do is remove the passenger side battery and tray then remove the bolts holding the wiper fluid bottle. The pump is on the bottom of the bottle and has a wire connector that you need to remove. I have had to remove mine a couple of times and clean the rubber filter screen where the pump is. It gets clogged with crud which restricts the flow of fluid. Once you remove the bottle you will see what I'm talking about. Just pull on the pump and it will pop right out.
It might not be the pump that is the problem. The nozzle might also be plugged up.
Thanks so much for the reply, Sean.
I replaced the pump, blew out the line where it "T's" over to the Drivers side, AND replaced both nozzles/squirters
Still has the problem....
The only thing I can now think of is that maybe the old lines have weakened/got soft and de-laminated on the inside so the pump pressure isn't enough to pressurize the last leg over to the drivers side?
I guess I am now going to have to tear it down again (not too bad actually) and replace the lines
