Anyone ever swap a 69 onto a 79 4x4 frame?Looking for any ideas here if anyone has ever done it. From what i have looked at everything look like a bolt in place deal. I'm going to put the fuel door in the bed off of the 79, Hope it all works. Thanks John
The cab forward should be a direct bolt on, I swapped a 69 to a 73 F250 frame and it was.
From the cab back, as in box and bumper, the hole for the box do not line up with the frame. So you have to drill new ones or add new cross pieces under the box to bolt the box to. The bumper mount bracket is too narrow so I used the 73's bumper...but I guess you could swap mounts.
Have fun
I have swaped a 67 body onto a 68 4X4 frame and had no problems i also put a 3" body lift and 35" mudders and i want a 6" suspension lift. Before i got the 69 i was looking at a 79. unfortunatly it does not bolt right on. but there is a solution, cut the body mounts off the frame on the 69 and weld them on to the 79. it is alot of work but if you want the options from the 79 this is a way to go. you could be like me and look for a 4X4 of the same year for cheap.
