Engine said enough is enough!
Well last night was the final journey for this power plant. Engine sounded like a diesel and had some major lower end knocking going on. When I get around to it in the next month or so I'll be pulling her out and replacing with a new long block. But I want to make sure what I have. I believe it's a 400m. This is a 77 f250 I'm going to attach some pics and if there's any other info needed I'll try to get it so I can determine what motor this is. Also looking to see if I can find someone selling a rebuilt long block. I don't have the time to build it myself so I'd rather just buy one or have this one rebuilt but trading this in as a core would probably be easier since it's not the original numbers motor anyhow. (Ford replacement back in the early 80s when the original took a dump)
You fer shure have an M Block.....351M/400. The only way to tell if it's a 400 is to measure the stroke, or look on the first crank couterweight for a number/letter combination.
The only difference between the 351M and the 400 is the crank and pistons.
