Tried to search their site: Valvoline Premium Blue
Site goes to categories, then after selecting 'Engine Oils' it brings up EVERY Valvoline product, completely ignoring the search terms.
Click on chat with subject: "Your search doesn't work"
First response without asking any questions: "Suggest you clear your browser cache and delete all cookies and try again"
My reply: "Dumba$s. Telling me to delete all cookies."
Them: "Due to vulgar language I have disconnected this chat."
Why is this a problem you ask? Deleting all cookies removes all your stored passwords, sessions, form data, etc from EVERY SINGLE SITE, not just Autozone.
Remember when the first suggestion of know-nothing computer support was 'Reinstall windows' ?
Beware what damaging advice you follow from obviously clueless and untrained (and apparently very delicate) people.
I don't usually use language like that, but how will such clueless people know unless someone tells them?
John, try using Google Chrome as your browser. You have the ability to choose what you want to clear and not clear in regards to history, cookies and passwords.
Although, there is not a browser in existence that will allow us to avoid the chat session *******.

Yeah, I can delete individual cookies in any browser. But deleting cookies would not fix the fact that their "search" ignores terms and uses far too loose gray searches

If you delete your cookies, it will delete your logged-in sessions. Technically you could still have stored passwords, which you could re-enter- which is what I think you meant and is technically correct
But why go through all that when it is clearly unrelated to the search engine their site uses?
It does make me shake my head when the nuclear option is the first suggestion AND it isn't effective
Glad to know there are others who don't blindly follow bad advice (from online chat reps)
It's OK. They're not any more helpful if you walk into the store. They opened one near enough to me (12 miles) that it made it the cheapest option close by. I needed an oil filter for the kids 6.0. I had to argue with the clerk weather it made a difference on it being 2wd or 4wd. I finally said, fine just give me one of each in the motorcraft brand.
They came back with a fram filter and said that oddly enough both 6.0 engines used the same oil filter, and that's the first time they had ever seen that. When I said I asked for Motorcraft, they tried to tell me how much better Fram was.
I don't shop there anymore. I'll either pay the mark up from the local place, or drive the extra miles to go somewhere else.
You guys askn them for anything, is funny.... Their next in line for wanting 15hr haha
I'm from a small town. When I walked in, I was the only customer in the store, so they were looking for something to do. I originally turned them down, but when they kept pestering me, I said, fine, give me the motorcraft part number for a 6.0 Powerstroke oil filter. It went downhill from there.
Granted O'reilly's isn't always better. I had a girl younger than my daughter badmouth the "kids with impacts" at the dealership when I told her they stripped out my oil drain plug with their free oil change.
Autozoo made me think they're idiots. O'reilly's made me feel old. I should probably just start to grunt when someone says something to me at the parts store from now on as my track record isn't great.
Hahaha...i figured most of us, do it to get a rise. Not much left in the world , good for that except...., beer, fishing, woman and our trucks that get the woman😉

The last time I was in Autozone I was looking for a telescoping inspection mirror (I don't buy actual auto parts from them). I was searching around when I came across a young kid stocking some items. I asked him if they had a telescoping inspection mirror. Without looking away from what he was doing he replied "This is all we have sir". Thinking he meant there was some kind of mirror there maybe just not exactly what I asked for I continued to look and didn't see one, and I said "where?". He repeated, without looking up, "this is all we have sir". I finally realized he meant every tool they carried was out there, and he didn't really know if there was an inspection mirror and he didn't really care and he wished I would just go away. When I realized this I was pissed and I let him have it verbally, and loud enough for everyone to hear. Then I walked out and drove to O'reillys where they fetched me a nice Lisle telescoping inspection mirror, imagine that! When I got home I called the store and relayed the story to the manager (another kid) and vowed to never return. Why should I spend my money there when I have a better choice just a few doors down the road?
I was lucky that the commercial account we had on that store new their chit, but other stores around had fresh high school kids attending me and had no clue when I told them to search for specific parts.
I still hate Autozone because of the issue with the 2nd amendment from years ago. A store was being robbed and a clerk was being held at gun point. Another clerk was able to make it out, went to his car and got his weapon and came back in and saved the other clerk... Autozone fired him. I wouldn't buy a %+&$ zip tie from Autozone. Rant over.
