Well here in the True North our Canadian Tire stores accept used oil ... they even say so on their website which is how I found out. Our local dump also accepts all hazardous fluids and materials, including used oil for free.
I still hate Autozone because of the issue with the 2nd amendment from years ago.
I actually mailed my rewards card back to corporate over that deal with a short note as to why I sent it back.

I understand that, but I didn't walk up to the counter and ask for anything. I actually refused help the first couple of times but she kept pestering me so as I was walking back to the filters, I told her what I wanted. (I was the only customer in the store)
Even the computer excuse doesn't forgive the fram part number when I asked for motorcraft, or the argument about fram being better.
What is it about retail, when ya actually, really need help with something, they all disappear, it's like they can smell it, but then when just killing time and want to look around and check things out, they are all over yer *** "Finding everything OK today sir?"
"You've asked me that three times in the last four minutes" Dumb look. I dress nice, not particularly threatening and am not a serial shoplifter. I don't get it. No wonder everybody shops online.
I think the Napa's up here are where all the old Parts guys go to die......I have one on every street corner and every one of them keep all their old Paper Parts books on a shelf until they disintegrate. They are starting to fall under China's spell and stock crap.....but at least they try harder......

This is why I love where I am at, we have four and a half shelves worth of parts books (and older tools even) from the 50s on for parts on farm equipment, generators, and small cars/big trucks. Yes, some are missing a couple pages and covers, but they're rarely wrong! I honestly prefer the books, half the time it is a faster lookup!
On the flip side if anybody is ever passing through my area give me a holler if you ever need anything, Im always glad to help when needed - be it for parts or finding a decent place to eat.

In Staunton? Isn't that the home of the truck stop formerly known as White's?

Whites is actually about 20 minutes South of here, and to my knowledge is still open.
The best truck stop meal I ever had was back before the restaurant at Harrisonburg Travel Center got new owners. Buddies and I had many 3AM runs there after working on our/others' trucks.

What was White's is gone and there's a Petro where it used to be. It was a terrible loss for our country.
