2010 5.4 VCT Solenoid Replacement?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to swap or replace the VCT solenoids on a 2010 5.4 WITHOUT removing the valve covers? I really don't want to dig this far into my engine and from what I can see, it looks like this might be possible if you were to use a very long handled T27 or maybe even a flexible shank screwdriver with a T27 bit on the end.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Check on YouTube. I believe there are some videos showing it being done.

Thanks for the reply.

so I realize this is a necro post and that the thread has been dead for a couple of years. However, the post comes up in a google search for replacing the VCT, and I feel the need to correct some terrible information. The video posted is not for ‘94-‘15 Triton VCTs, as stated. In 2007, the valve covers were changed, specifically, the opening for the VCT. On ‘07-‘18 Triton engines, the valve cover must come off to remove the VCT solenoid. You can not access the screw through the seal opening, and even if you manage to, the screw flange will prevent you from removing the VCT through the valve cover opening.

Thanks man. This was helpful in all the way into 2021. I have a 2010 F150 and need to change the solenoids. There is a lot of bad info out there.
