Dash/tail light issue after new ignition
Hi
I just put a new ignition in my fathers 1955 F100 which is now 12v negative ground.
The switch was a bit different as there was the 4th un-needed post in the middle had we wanted to eliminate the old starter button (which we don't).
I did the wires one post at a time doing the following:
wires on COIL I put on IGN
wires on AM I put on BAT
wires on GA I put on ACC
My issue is now the dash lights and the tail lights stay on even with the key in the off position. I have to assume I have something extra attached to the BAT post that in the past didn't matter but does with this new switch. Everything else works great.
Any ideas?? Is there a separate wire for just the dash and tail lights. If so, what post should it go on?
Thanks
Deb

I'm old so forgive me but all your lights run off of your LIGHT SWITCH. I'm having trouble figuring out why changing your ignition switch would cause light issues.
Here's a diagram to try to help.
