05 dash panel cracking

Was wondering if anyone else's black dash panel has cracked or broken. My EX is from Oklahoma but had been garaged most of its life paint is good, the plastic outside on mirrors and cowl are still black but the dash panel is brittle. I installed a new radio and broke it just above the cluster taking it off glued that back together got the radio installed and all was good for about 2 months then it started cracking around the radio. Now the radio just slides in and out. Anyway I'm in need of a new dash panel not sure if I should go with an 05 or paint an older one to match.

I can get you brown or grey from 00-01 trucks. Shipping won't be cheap on those things. They will come from the Gold Mine near me. I doubt you will find one new, but I could be wrong.

I had the same issue on my 05 truck when I bought it. Indoor kept truck with 83K, the dash broke up in my hands after i tried reinstalling. I bought an 05 tan and had it painted. It's hard to find a black 05 excursion one anyways

Yep the 05 black dash bezel is hard to find. The excursion dashs are different than the truck ones in the design. The truck ones will snap in place of course, they just look different. The only truck dash bezel that matches is the in the king ranch dash. It would have to be painted as well, as they only came in tan.

Not sure if your serious, but here goes.

I'm including 3 pictures. One excursion, one regular pickup, and one king ranch pickup. The most noticable difference is the look in the area above the instrument cluster.

My example pictures dont have the same options, the pickup dash in the picture is missing the esof switch etc.

Regular pickup bezel

Excursion

King Ranch

Yes, I was serious. Thanks for the pictures.

The only difference I perceive is the inlay/notch line surrounding the instrument cluster. Probably a Model Year difference. Didn't the '05 have semi-circular air vents?

Various options:
Only the Excursion has rear window defrost
ESOF switch.
Passenger Airbag On/Off
Parking Sensor
Foot Pedal Adjustment

There is another difference. It is the shape of the headlight switch. Trucks were all square (except that KR dash), and the excursion is oval. If you switch to a truck bezel, you will need to swap the switches as well.

My tan 01 panel has been parked in the driveway for the 5+ years I have owned it. In the hot Texas heat/sun. No cracking here, and I have had it in/out several times working on wiring, steering column, vents, etc. Maybe the black tint in the plastic is responsible for the brittle nature of the plastic? I did have a 02 Dodge pickup before the X, and it fell apart if you just looked at it. Common problem on the Dodges.

Just be sure to salvage all your black dash panel switches and ac vents and all you'll need to do is have the shell painted the reinstall everything. I got a tan excursion painted one so everything fit right and it still had the "excursion" name plate

I can find out for you.

He has a grey 2000 Excursion panel and a brown 2000 Excursion panel. I don't know the differences between the 05 and 00. Maybe post up a pic of yours?

Is your dash panel cracked or is the black finish flaking off?
