The seal comes with very generic instructions, the website has much more detailed and specific instructions. Problem is the instructions for the F250 are for the 2016 model. Ditto for the F150. Should I follow the F150 instructions, or are the aluminum beds and tailgates different?
If you look under compatible vehicles it only lists F150s. If you do a search for similar F250 accessories the seal is not listed.
Anyone have any experience with this? I'd like to keep dust and water out of my bed after installing the tonneau cover, but don't want to spin my wheels installing something that's not compatible. Thanks!
I've installed the do-it-yourself tailgate seal on 3 truck now. I had one left over from my previous 2014 F-150 Limited that I didn't install that fits perfectly on my 2017 F-250 Platinum FX4. Of course I still had to cut to length to make it fit like on the F-150.
i would guess they just havent updated their product info. I dont know what would make it incompatible. I put one very similar on, couldnt tell you what brand. nothing to it. clean, cut to fit, peel, stick. had my son get in and check for light after and used the extra to seal it up. hasnt fallen off yet.
I don't have a bed cover on my truck now because I have a truck camper but on my previous trucks I put the weather seal around the bed at the tailgate on both sides of bed and across the bottom. I highly recommend it because when your cover is closed and you go down a dirt road, if not sealed (as well as it can be sealed), the dust will roll into the bed like a vacuum. I did not do that on my first one and quickly realized how important it is the first time I went camping and opened up the cover when I got to camp. Everything was covered in dust!

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'll use the F150 instructions. It has you putting three of four little pieces on each side in addition to the basic strips on each side and the bottom.
