Painted two bar grille

Howdy,

I have a CCSB PS FX4 Lariat, I absolutely love my truck. Want to break up the chrome a little. Been thinking about plasti dipping my chrome two bar grills that splits the Ford emblem. Wanted to know if anyone has painted or plasti dipped theirs yet and how it went/ turned out.

Thanks,

Truck looks real good. Doing black or that ruby red on the bars would be sharp. Where are you? I work in fl a lot.

Thanks man, I'm planning on doing black.

I'm from the Tampa/St. Pete area. I'm stationed in Va though

I wouldn't plasti dip the front end. It's great for emblems and what not, but the front won't hold up to the punishment. Get it acid etched, primered, and painted.

You could dip it if you just wanted to see what it looks like black, but it won't last.

Plasti Dip

Plasti dip for now until I decide to change the grille out. Completed about 1 month ago, so far no issues.

Slavoise- if you dont mind me asking what did that cost? It looks amazing. My truck is black and am wondering how it would look with mine blacked out. For what it's worth I have a lariat without the chrome package.

Waiting for my Oxford White KR to be delivered. I will "test view" the effect by covering my grille bars with white tape before committing to a paint change.

Painting the front bars, door handles, mirror caps (plus buying paintable caps), and painting small tailgate handle cost me $500. The emblems I did before and I think the front and rear were like $250 or so.
