The NSS is located on the transmission beginning in 1978 as is the A/T backup lamp switch beginning in 1980.
Only 1981/82 F100/150's with AOD have a NSS. 1980/82 C4/C5/C6 do not have a NSS .. only have a backup lamp switch.
Now you got me asking how do they keep the starter from working in gear if no NSS?
Is there another "switch" on the column and is called something else?
Both of my trucks are sticks so I cant go check.

Bill did say something I did not know of the 2 years not have a NSS.
I would like to see what it is called and where it is placed.
