How about removing the brackets and dipping them in plastidip? Or spray them with the rubberized spray you see on advertised TV.

Of course, Ford hasn't given dealers any indication of helping existing customers who are having this issue. For those who are having rust problems with the deflectors, try seeing if the dealer will cover under warranty. But you'll have to wait until the hardware issue is remedied first. That's going to take time.
Thanks very much for posting this. I will definitely keep pressure on my dealer until they replace mine.

Yup - mine is now streaking rust on the headlight. Purchased from Tasca. Hopefully, they can provide new hardware.

I have had the rust stains above my driver light as well. Will bring up to dealer on Monday when I take truck in to get the gas tank TSB done. Also, what is the likelihood of the dealer being able to put in Job 2 cup holders. The rubber things on the Job 1 stink and they get pushed in and won't pop back at making for a loose holder. Think they could do that under warranty?

I stopped by my dealer yesterday and when they looked up the deflector on their system it showed no inventory. They suspect that is due to the manufacturer still working on a fix. They have put in an order for me but have no idea when it might come in. For now I will keep cleaning the rust up so it doesn't create a permanent stain.

I wonder how to get just the hardware. I think it's speculation at this point that Ford plans on doing anything for people who already have the deflector.

They told me I have a 2 year warranty on the deflector and they will replace the parts when they are available. Perhaps that is because I had the dealer install mine before I picked the truck up.
