are a joke. This was completely relevent to the topic of the forum, was in no way offensive, vulgar or otherwise improper yet some "moderator" felt it was necessary flex his muscles and show everyone that he can do what he wants and offer NO REASONABLE EXPLANATION, and you will like it by the way..
Genrally the people running these boards do a very good job however.
The moderator has a point... but I would have not locked it, there was some thoughtful and relevent posting going on. But hey, thats why I am not a moderator, too much responsability.

Congratulations: Excellant example of flaming. Notice the use of quote marks around "moderator" to further degrade and humiliate him.
Get the point? Here's a couple of tips.
1. Don't spit into the wind.
2. Don't put your latrine upstream from your campsite.
3. You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
Actually the "Moderator" did an excellent job of explaining his reason for closing that thread. It was a Ford vs. the Competition thread which does not belong in that forum and since the Ford vs. forum "was" closed, Ryan did exactly what he should have done.
as far as moving threads to other forums because theyre off topic, thats fine, i agree with that. but the language filter kinda gets on my nerves, other sites i visit allow certain amounts of cussing but it doesnt get out of hand. i used a few ** things (cant spell the word) to replace letters in a word once and got yelled at for it. it just seems to be really strict to me.
Very shortly after I started posting on this forum I used the * to blank out certain letters of a word. The moderator changed the word to all #'s and informed me via e-mail that language wasn't allowed and directed me to the forum guidelines.
I quickly caught on and pretty much have been behaving myself ever since. It couldn't be any simpler. It's Ken's website, Ken's forum and Ken's rules. If you think they are too strict, then go over to one of the wide open forums and have a ball. If you want to stay here, pull in your horns a little, obey the rules and enjoy.

FTE rated with RASC as a site acceptable to all age groups. This allows FTE to be viewed by "safe surfing" software that parents buy. RASC does not distinguish between levels of cursing, its either cursing or its not. When in doubt, take the high road. You can't get in trouble by talking nice... if it's not acceptable job interview language then its probably not acceptable here. Don't get me wrong, those who have met me personally know I occasionally let a word or two slip out --- but there's a proper time and place for that type of stuff.
I've gotten the argument of "no one that young is using the site." Well, I see things the users don't see:
1. Elementary classrooms that drew truck pictures and mailed them to us.
2. Children who contact us and tell us how cool a Ford truck is, their daddy drives one, or "where can I find pictures, posters, etc."...
3. Children who have a school project and use the site for information.
Ken summed it up pretty well. In the past, I've used Ken's approach and told several members (who, incidentally, got banned for stirring up too much trouble) not to say anything they wouldn't say in a job interview. Seems like a pretty good guideline to me.
