Originally posted by mattsbox99 Well alan, if you truly think that, take a look at the Ford Vs. The Competition forum. Carlene has admitted to being quite lax in there. The boss had to step in and make a decision, even though I don't agree that it should be closed, he did the most effective thing.
True, I admitted to being lax about following the "Tech Only" rules of that forum. My being lax was because I personally didn't see any problem with good clean "non-flaming" debates on non-tech issues so I would let them slide. However, I did not let any profanity of flaming slide.
BTW - I voted Yes. For the most part, the moderating is the best around but I also see a lot of threads/posts where it's too quick on the trigger or where the mood of the day prevails. Since there wasn't an option of "Somewhat", my only choice was Yes.
I used to hang out at supercars.net, but all they do is talk crap about everyone else, and very little discussion gets done. Here, Truck tech questoins get answered and you don't have to filter through all the other stuff that no one really cares about.
I voted no.
l agree with much to my delight, it's great to come here and actually get your question answered and not have to put up with all the crap that some of the other boards allow.
No. The guidelines lay out the rules for this site and it's the moderators' job to see that they are followed. Flaming and name calling gets old in a hurry and I think it's good that the language stays clean.
If anything it's under moderated. Some threads go on and on (I should know cause I'm in most of them) and I just wish the thread would die, but some yo yo that's been on vacation or something pops in a week later and away it goes again.
I am a memeber of few other sites and they get a bunch of yahoos ranting on and on about stuff that has nothing to do with the subject. At least here i know when I or anyother member needs help it will be there and when there is a disagreement, which will always happen, we (as a group) are mature enuff to discuss it and agree to dissagree most of the time and I for one like that part of this forum
I vote no because I read the rules before I joined, they are not my servers, and if I am bothered with the enforcement I can always quit coming. Sort of like suing MacDonalds because you eat too many burgers
...I voted no...
Moderators are like HOAs....They can be annoying at times but over all the benefits usually out wieght any perceived inconvienance...As long as they're closely monitored
I say no.....but there is a certain thing that puzzles me. Why can't I recommend *** truck to someone looking for interior or body parts to a 80-86 F-150 or such? I wouldn't mind the banning of *** if Ken had the support for the 80-86 F-150s as he does for the older ones...
I voted no, because I hit the wrong button.... no, sorry, I didn't want to vote, but got pressurized, but what the heck.
I have been to boards with little moderation, I have been a moderator where moderating was not appreciated. Keep up the good work, Moderators. We need you, and your miserable little delete buttons.

It has nothing to do with what anybody sells. We could stop all product sales and they still wouldn't be allowed. It has everything to do with upholding a principle and a private matter between they and us.
I don't exactly understand what you are saying wildjon, but I have to agree on some points. I have seen threads get deleted and I to this day don't know why.
Here's a question ken - how did he just bypass the filter?
