blower motor on 2000 explorer
I have a 2000 explorer xls and when I run the a/c on high I get a noise from the glove box. I was told to check the blower motor. I seen two videos that one in under the dash and one is under the hood. I cant access under the hood so I assume its under the hood. if its under the hood will I still hear it in the truck. Thanks in advance

You can only remove the blower motor from under the hood. You might have to remove some things that are in the way, such as the coolant reservoir, before you can access the blower motor, but that's the only way to remove it.

when you say "run on high", you mean the max blower speed ? YES, the motor makes quite a bit more noise on high than medium... and it will echo thru the air duct....... if you mean " run on recirc", what that does in close off the outside air and the system recircs the air inside the cab thru a duct door by the glove box... and yes, that will make slightly more NOISE than setting on "outside air".

What kind of noise are you referring to? Does it sound like something is flapping in the blower fan blade? Does it make a squeal or chirping? Is it just louder than on other settings?
