2006 Ford Escape, code P0340
Hi, I have a 2006 ford exhaust, 2.3 liters, 65865 miles, I have a problem code p0340, change the ignition coils, spark plugs, CMP and CKP sensor, check to ground, continuity in sensor cables,I remove the code with the scanner, I drive for 1 hour or more, after this time the code p0340 appears, and loses power the engine, I have commented that it may be PCM, before buying it, and spend on the spare.
Some suggestions to be able to review and be sure that it is the pcm. Thank you

Good thought but the code is for the wiring and the car drives for 1hr before throwing the code...if it really was the timing I'd expect it to throw a code immediately and possibly specifically call the sensor or use P0022 or P0011 as it would know if it was advanced or retarded...
One check might however be to check the cam drive chain is tight and not too loose (possibly due to a failed tensioner), that may itself cause slightly variable timing, whether that could trigger this code I wouldn't know though.

Which would be my suggestion. Given that the OP has already replaced a lot of expensive parts, short of the PCM, I would certainly verify base engine valve timing were correct at this point. For what it's worth, I have seen that very code set on other engines which ended up being a base engine concern to be the root cause. If several attempts to repair as mentioned above have failed, that would tend to leave the most intrusive part unaddressed. For example, if someone not-in-the-know has previously replaced a crank seal without re-timing the engine, that could certainly cause that code to set.
