I dunno GlueGuy. We might have to have an arm wrestling contest about the anti-Apple thing. I absolutely despise that company.
I just picked up a new Samsung A3 (2017), unlocked with Android 6.0.1 and am loving it. Nice and small and it doesn't have all the bloatware AT&T and other providers install. I went with this model over the S8 or whatever the 'flagship' is because I don't do apps, I don't have Sync 3. I have my 3 email addresses, text (which I try not to use much), phone and a bunch of music. All I need. And no need for iTunes........
You're on!
A year or two ago I went for a Nexus 6P. Zero bloatware, and I get monthly security and feature updates to the Android OS. Best decision I've ever made. Plus I don't have to conform to the Apple mindset (which just never worked for me).

My phone is currently on 7.1.2 (nougat), which was the update issued on July 5, 2017. Updates usually come during the first week of each month, so another update is due any day now.
