hows everybody doing?

Man I just got my brand new comp yesterday, then it turned out that the modem was no good

So I am finally back online, its amazing how much work a guy can get done when there is no computer to sit on

I havent had a computer for about 2 months or something, ive been looking for a truck or a car for the past month, something cheap and something I like...I finally got myself a new car, not brand new of course...

I picked up a 1990 mazda rx7 turboII...for a steal of a deal

I was looking in every buysell paper for the past month (comes out once a week), because I didnt have a computer to look things up on I was walking to the 7-11 and buying it the day it comes out...

I cant seem to get my digi-cam to work on the new computer because it has windows vista (sucks) ... I tried deleting vista so I could install XP on it but I cant figure out how to format the drive, its not the same as the other operating systems are for that... I would not recommend vista if your thinking of what to get for yourself...seems to me that microsoft just changed it so that you cant install the same disc on more than 1 computer, and some other little things I cant remeber right now...but all it seems to me is that they call it a new OP system, but really its not any better, only better for microsoft to control what people do more...and of course issues like my digi cam not working with Vista... so now i either gotta get another computer, or buy another digi cam...

Got myself a basement suite and got a job printing about 3 mins drive away, with the gas I am saving it works out to about the same as not having to pay rent... water bill, hydro, gas for the car, and taxes on the house I owned in SK came out to approx $777....my rent now is $750 with hydro and satellite TV included, of course no taxes and no water bill either...and with work being 3 mins away I maybe put $30 into the truck every 2 weeks...thank God

my 90 rx7 turboII has as much suck you into your seat power as my 69 cutlass had, and it was about 300-350 HP...but for a small car I think it gets about 13 MPG I know its not a "real" ford but its the best car I could find in 1 month of searching...once I get some pics of it you can guess what I paid

so...I hope to be able to come and stop in more often, now that i finally got a permanent computer of our own....first brand new comp I have ever owned...

its a 1.8 mghz AMD, 70 gig HD, dvd-rom RW, optical mouse and flatscreen monitor...and its black which is also a first...

more about my car, its a 90 turbo II, with a rotary engine that revs up to 7000 and sounds like an airplane engine LOL...black out, with bra, black in with leather, tilt, A/C, power windows, remote door locks/alarm, 16 inch American racing aluminum rims with yokohama tires, 4 wheel disc brakes, I totally love driving it....it hugs the road like a sports car should, I can do corners at 80KMS an hour and its feel like im going 40...

best part of all, the car has 135,xxx kms on the speedo....which is approx 63,500 miles....which is very low miles for the year....its a keeper

I kinda missed my bronco and looked at a 94 bronco but didnt buy it...price was too high...

hope all of you are doing good...

No worries, drop in any time.
I`m sure you`ll be behind the wheel of a Ford truck before too long.

welcome back! Just a word of caution, those rotary engines are very expensive to repair if you cant do it yourself. A friend of mine had one, went like snot, but when it broke down it chewed his wallet raw.

hey effie man... I have had a couple other rx7's with rotarys, ive never taken one apart but I have read some books on how they work, its kind of cool technology. But yeah, very expensive to rebuild an engine. Not the kind of rebuild just any shop can do, I hope with the lower kms it lasts awhile...my 81 had 260,xxx and my 88 had 200,xxx kms... the 90 now is at 135,xxx... my 81 with 260,xxx fouled plugs up with oil....the 88 was still good at 200,xxx kms...

hey 66gpw... thats freaky about the windstorm knocking out your windows man... a month after I moved from Odessa back to BC I heard about the tornadoes in manitoba... looked on a map and it was only 5 hours from Odessa where they happened... I have never even seen a dust devil before, which I did see when I was in SK... scary things tornadoes, but I would like to see one thats great about the new driveway... must be nice... I always tell the wife I want a concrete yard...no grass just concrete and a high fence so I can have as much trucks/cars as i can on it

good to see ya dustin, I think about how i used to post on here, but now that I am used to not having a computer (took 2 months to get used to that) I think I literally went through computer withdrawls LOL... after about 2 months of not having one... its actually kind of nice how much other stuff I get done without one... its so easy to stay on the computer for hours and not realize it...just last night I had to make myself turn off the comp...needed to go sleep

hey sherm... yes yes... long time no see I looked at a 95 thunderbird....think it was a 95...although they are not as popular as say a mustang... i kinda think they are cool... i think i can sell the rx7 for 5 times what I paid for it...which i might just do... im kind of an opportunist when it comes to vehicles... aslong as its so cheap that I can lose... then I buy it LOL... I have a list of about 7 brands that I prefer to stick to... and have a few I will not touch...

I checked out a 1996 mazda ext-cab pickup for $1600...but the guy insisted on meeting me at mcdonalds and would not allow me to come to his house, even though he said he lived 5 mins from where I live... my guess and gut feeling is that the truck has a lien on it....so I passed it up... and 2 days later the rx7 came along...

my wife just got up , i was going to go check out the post about kings dads new project...but I will have to come back later...

glad to see all these familiar names on here...

hahaha... yeah its a nice cap...

hey I forgot to mention earlier that the blazer we bought for my wife passed the provincial inspection with no probs.... inspector said it was a "good truck"

I was worried it would not pass, or the shop I took it to would try and rack up a list of problems to try and squeeze me for money...

I did put on all new, rotors, pads, drums, shoes, and emergency brake cables before I brought it for the inspection... and I waxed it up and cleaned it out, so that it looked presentable, and showed that it had been maintained... not 1 single problem was noted on the inspection report...100% pass

I am very very happy so I wanted to share that... I have never had to get a vehicle saftied before... it wasnt a hassle like I always hear it is...

So you still over in Aggassiz prep?

FOMOKO I tried finding the ad of the thunderbird I was thinking of buying, but I cant find the ad now... it was on usedvancouver.com, there is 2 other ones on there now, but the one I seen was white and had mag wheels on it and looked cool... and the price was under $2000....I think it was $1200 but Ive been looking at quite a few in the past month and they are all getting mixed up in my brain
