Every photo above are "AC core supports" Enclosed below are 4 photos of my core supports/radiators. First 2 show the NON AC core support that I repaired and installed, (before I got the AC equipped cab). Notice the "filled in area" circled in red. this core support supported the smaller (29" radiator that came with the non AC truck). Notice the opening is off center.
When I swapped cabs and took all the guts for the AC under the hood, I left the AC core support at the bone yard.
When installing the AC radiator and condenser, I found they would not fit, it was way to wide" in my rebuilt, original core support. Had to go back and pull the AC core support.
Non AC radiator is 29" wide. AC radiator and condenser are 34" wide.
Ron - What years were those trucks? As said, the catalog shows that the EOTZ 16138—A support, which had a smaller opening, was used for 1980 though '82, but it was not used after that. So, could your "non-A/C support" be that one.
Here's my 1982 support. The truck had a 351W and A/C w/a C6. And the opening for cool air on the left/driver's side has been cut out as I'll be using a dual-snorkel air cleaner. While there wasn't originally an opening there, there was a stamped spot where the opening would be.
