Spark Plugs

I was replacing the spark plugs on my '99 B2500, it's a 2.5 liter with eight spark plugs. It was easy until the last two which are numbers three and four under the intake manifiold. I haven't been able to reach them and I am wondering if their is a trick or a tool that helpin reaching these last two? Also I have splitfire plugs on the the first two cylinders and on the last two cylinders there is one splitfire and one factory plug for each remaining cylinder. If I have to take this into a shop it will have to wait for a week, is there going to be a problem with the mixture of spark plugs?

Spark Plugs

Though I'm not at all familar with your engine, with some of GM's stuff you need to remove an engine brace in front, then rotate the engine forward to be able to reach the plugs in the back. Although it sounds like a daunting task, it's actually quite simple to do and can be done by 1 person with little more than a few wrenches. Hope this helps.

If you still need it all you do is remove the throttle body to gain access.

Hello Shakina Glory;
Welcome to the FTE Family! The plugs should all be the same! It seems that another person has attemped to remove these plugs and has failed! I also have an 8 plug system. On the intake side, I needed an extra long socket wrench extension, to gain access to my 4 plugs through the spaces in the upright manifold < (mine looks like it has spider legs; real long!) that I have on my 2.3L~4banger! On the exhaust side, they were a breeze to take out! There will be more respondents to your question, then you can make a proper decision, if you can wait a bit. Questions seem to get answered quickly here @ FTE cause all of our members are so helpful!

I used the same method as wolfen. I used two long extensions and a swivel. Took me about 10 minutes to replace the exhaust side and 25 minutes for the intake side.

GOOD LUCK!!
