Should I just replace my computer?

My truck is a 93 F350 460/auto 2wd

It had a really bad intermittent running problem where it runs like dog crap, check engine light flashes on and off, it will barely shift and barely idle. When it's doing this I try to pull codes and nothing comes up, the scanner just reads 000 and won't start the test.

When it runs good, everything is fine and it runs all the tests with no codes.
I am lost at this point.. should I just try a computer?

Thanks

I'd pull out the PCM, remove the cover, and inspect the capacitors for bulging, leaking, and corrosion. They are a common failure point for our PCM's.

You can replace them yourself if you are handy with a soldering iron, and the traces aren't destroyed by corrosion.

Just replace them, they are 25 years old. They don't usually or always bulge or leak.

Just the capacitors, that's usually the only parts that fail, though maybe they can zap something else when they choke, or the electrolyte will corrode the etched circuit board. Some of those boards get kinda spendy. Capacitors are inexpensive.
