Does anyone know if you need to remove the glass entirely from the door in order to replace the anti-rattle bars on a 1966 Ford F-100 custom cab, or can you do it with the window rolled down?
Was probably going to get them from Dennis Carpenter unless someone has a better recommendation. Thanks.
I will warn you that you have to look real hard for a kit that has the stainless lower side ati rattle strips that truly "fit" I looked at several online, and what I got from lmc-Vintque brand and they fit and work and all but they leave a nasty gap in the rear bottom corner where they meet the other anti rattle track/run. Now I've seen seen a slick at a car show that had the stainless kits that fit right...but he didn't remember where he got it....but if you don't care about whether its stainless I think the black kits fit better-just by the pictures as I've never had one in my hands to look at. I'm sure someone has more info of who has the best kits. I'm leaning towards a real rubber window sweep, sending my old ones to metro rubber or somebody who makes long lasting rubber and ask if they can make it have a sot for some stainless trim...
Thanks. Looks like door glass needs to be removed before anti-rattlers can be removed to make way for the new ones. If anyone disagrees then let me know. Thanks again.
You do not have to remove the glass.
Remove the window roller from the stud of the window regulator, drop the door glass w/channel down to the bottom of the door, install the anti-rattlers.
