I did some searching for this and couldn't find what I was looking for probably because I don't know what they are called. My side roll down windows rattle like crazy. I live on a farm and have a gravel driveway so you can imagine the noise.
I seem to remember on my granddads old Ford that there were brushes on the window frames that kind of steadied the glass. I assume mine have rusted out in the last 50 years. Can these be replaced? what are they called and where can I get some? What about getting the rust off of the inside of the doors? Is it possible?

Available from all the repro parts sellers. The felt has gone bye bye, so if you look close, all that's remaining is the retainers (that clip onto the door) it was originally bonded to.

Thanks, Bill. What about clearing the rust on the inside of the window jam? Is that just a lost cause?
If it's just surface rust, use steel wool and Ajax or Comet, or if more severe, it can be sanded off.
Closest Ford truck repro parts seller to "Jaw-Jah" is Dennis Carpenter, located in Concord NC (800-476-9653) just north of the Charlotte (formerly Lowe's) Motor Speedway.
The different vendor catalogs list the kits as "Anti-rattle kits" and "Window channel kits" or you can buy the individual components. The kits run about $200 and will do both sides or $100 and will do 1 side.
Of all the money I have spent on truck parts, these anti rattle kits are at the top for being worth the money. Sadly, I had already gone crazy from the noise before I was willing to part with $100 plus per window.
Remove rust in place using phosphoric acid. To totally remove rust, go full strength, to stabilize for painting, go 1 part acid, 3 parts water or as per the directions. Full strength is about 97%. I buy Jasco Paint and Primer from Lowes due to they are the only local suppier of PA. Don't fall for buying the acid already diluted, you are just buying water. Safety first. Test on your paint in a hidden area (under the door) to see it it will affect the oxide / color of the paint.
