Time for more -- head work?

Hi guys. My '84 F150 has been a blast since the work I did based on what I learned in this forum.

Clifford C intake, EFI exhaust manifolds, Holley 600 cfm 4v, and Summit HEI distributor -- the truck is actually really peppy now.

So...I want more. I've read a little about head work. My question is: how do I pick a machine shop that knows what they are doing?

In addition to having the head ported, what else should I look at doing?

TIA.

Hi Arizona,

As around to a few shops and see if they know someone who does porting/polishing. When I had mine done, it was about $600 but the work was simply amazing and even came with before and after air flow numbers.

Also, while you're at it, S.I. valves sells enlarged valves for our head.

Be sure you have those installed BEFORE you port and polish though.
