PW kits made specifically for the '57-60 are available. Grafting from a '94 depends on a lot of factors: your fabrication abilities; the fitment of the bottom of the glass on the lift rail; and how/where to attach the motor unit to name a few. Best way to tell is to do a test run and see.
I was unable to change the stock locks to PDL's myself, but that's not to say that the '94 wouldn't work so long as you can place it securely, fab it to fit the opening in the outer door, and it doesn't interfere with the travel of the PW unit.
Swapping an entire unit may actually be a more viable solution than how I tried to do it (ie, upgrading existing locks to power units), so good luck!
i have seen several pw kits in my truck mags. i just have this one available and a dollar saved is a dollar i can spend on something else. but, i think you're right, i'll just have to have a look see and decide if it's beyond my skills, which are not considerable.
as far as the pdl, i was planning on taking the whole enchilada out of the F250 and putting it in the F100. the controls for the pw and pdl are in a nice little "pod" that i think would look good on the F100. if i have to go aftermarket on the pw kit, maybe i could wire it to the "pod". what do you think?
as usual, all input, whether positive or negative, is appreciated
I'd DEFINITELY shoot for the whole enchilada out of the F250 first. That'd be sweet if it worked out that you could get it in there, especially with the button pods. Good luck; hope the PW thing works out AND the PDL thing... keep us posted!
I have experience with several different kinds of aftermarket PW kits. They're not all that impressive as far as I'm concerned. A donor conversion would probably be worthwhile if you got it cheap enough. Even if extensive fabbing was required.
i guess i'll just get started and see what happens. it would be good if i can make it work because i have the stuff from the F250. i'll be sure to post my success, or lack thereof, when i get to that point.
i've never posted any pictures here. i don't know how. but, i will find out how and post pics of my progress. i think i'll take some now before i do anything and more on a step by step basis.
