My Truck is F-250 4x4 351w c-6 auto
The trans. pan was leaking so I decided to change the gasket. After the pan was removed I noticed the center of the pan was dented in. I'm assuming the previous owner had hit a rock or what ever. I'm wonder if this has caused the pan to leak.Don't notice it to be warped. So even if I replace the gasket will it leak. as you know not a cheap and fun job. Should I replace the pan. If so where does one get a reasonable price on a pan. So many different pans. (deep, shallow)
Now to the filter there is several different ones for C-6 they are year and drive specific. The one I removed has a round hole at the screen with a tube out of it. The new ones have a round hole but no tube. Do I transfer the tube over. Thx David

I'd transfer the tube over if the old one had one.

C6 2WD/Passenger Car/Econoline filter (D5AZ-7A098-B/Motorcraft FT-52) different than C6 4WD filter (D3TZ-7A098-B/Motorcraft FT-48).

Econoline not available with C6 until 1975, Bronco until 1978. 4WD's not available with A/T until 1973. C6's not available in cars after 1979.

C6 introduced in misc 1966 Passenger Cars (410/428 initially), 1968 F100/350 (360/390 initially). With 300/302's in 1978.

There's only one C6 pan gasket for all (C6AZ-7A191-B).
