Non-stock Carb id?

First off thanks to the members here as I've learned quite a bit about the 48 F1 my wife recently inherited. I ordered a rebuild kit for an 847 before I realized what was actually under the breather. It seems the carb has been replaced with a 1904. I find many different kits available and want to make sure I don't purchase the wrong one again. Pics hopefully work and thank you for the help!

Welcome to the forum! We like pictures, so please post some when you get a chance.

A caution on NOS carb kits; depending how old they are, the gaskets may be shrunk or dried out. Soaking in gas may help, may not. But the older Motorcraft kits are almost certainly going to have better needle valves than the current chi-comm crap.

The thing is, in 1972 the US Gov't forced Ford to sell Auto-Lite, because they claimed that Ford had a monopoly on auto parts.

GM bought Delco in the 19teens, but when Ford pointed this out, this info fell on deaf ears.

Ford then formed in-house brand Motorcraft, all the Auto-Lite part numbers became Motorcraft part numbers.

So are these kits Auto-Lite or Motorcraft?
