Problems
Just bought 97 f150 the guy put pi heads on it and got it most of the way back together and quit i put truxk back together and started motor before water added to it sounded good added water to radiator started again hydroed and snapped piston rod what xould he have done wrong and would 5.4 heads on a 4.6 do this

pretty sure the heads are the same for either 4.6 or 5.4....so yes either the heads were cracked or improper gasket installation....maybe a cracked cylinder wall if water was just in the coolant system and it was exposed to temps below 32*f for extended period of time.
