I haven't been able to drive my truck for over a few months now due to it having a blown head gasket I'm wondering if I put new gaskets on and use the heads from my lower mileaged motor that needs machine work that ill be ok even tho this motor has 318k miles ill probably change the water pump I bought for the other motor just to make sure I don't have any issues with it over heating and blowing a nother gasket ...... I guess what I'm asking is doing all this should I be ok swapping heads or should I keep the originals
what has me thinking head gaskets is water coming out the exhaust and a lot of pressure coming out the radiator and no sigh of water in the oil
I would be more inclined to suspect a crack. Or like "macrobb" said "cavitation" That's a classic sign of a crack between the water jacket and the exhaust valve port (if you have no signs of external leakage-water or oil) (or water in oil). Once you get them off it should be fairly easy to find the culprit. If it's a crack and not a gasket that combustion chamber will be "cleaner" because it's beind "washed" with hot water. If it's a gasket you should be able to find the "blowout". Looking carefully you have a good chance of seeing a crack. You could always clean them up yourself and see if a machine shop will just magnaflux them. You could post some pictures once you get them off.
