This is for the ambulance guys:
We have a 2005 E350 with cracked head (fuel in water). We've decided to pull both heads, magnaflux for additional cracks and repair/replace heads based on results. If it's just the one cylinder we've identified, we'll go with the modified cup repair. (Diesel Fuel in your Coolant? 6.0L Ford Powerstroke Cylinder Head Repair Kit | eBay)
My question is; can we pull the heads without removing the engine? Would it be easier to just go ahead and pull it?
I appreciate any input. Thanks
Terry
Nobody in their right mind likes e series and the 6.0. Just pull it you can't even get the valve covers off without pulling motor mounts or jacking the body up, and good luck with that on an amblance. Lots of parts to pull but once you dig a hole it gets easier. And take lots of pics for reassembly if it's your first E .
