Engine trouble

I have a 2013 f150 & the fuel pump relay fuse burnt out. I unhooked the battery cable "wasnt thinking" & took the fuse out & replaced it. Now my truck wont get over 3000 rpms & is driving like i got bad fuel or something. & now its throwing codes about my trac & i dont know why. Just from unhooking the battery cable & hooking it back up. Have any of yall encountered this or have an idea of what it is??

Have you looked into why the fuse blew in the first place? The truck running like crap right after replacing the fuse waves a big red flag to me.

The fuse burning is a very common problem on our F150s and there is a TSB on the subject and a very long thread here.

To do the fuse mod/TSB you have to remove the battery cable. I done the TSB mod myself with no problems.

My guess is that there is something else going on.

Thread for you if you're not aware of F27 issue.

Ya i saw the thread about that and ordered the kit. I dont know what could have made it burn other then to much current for the fuse but i mean why would ford do that if it wasnt enough?? And as far as the truck running bad i know its a red flag i just dont know what the flag is i was kind of hoping this happend before & someone would know what it is. The truck is still under warranty but i dont know if taking it in would fix the problem or if they would just put a bandaid on it for it to happen again. I thought by unhooking the battery it shorted something maybe but i dont know why that would happen i mean you are suppose to be able to disconnect the battery and reconnect it so i dont know

I agree; you should be just fine disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.

As for the excessive current, I don't believe Ford would be doing it on purpose. It doesn't make much business sense.

My local ASE Certified mechanic shop is aware of the TSB. He says he services hundreds of F150s and has not seen this fuse problem yet. I am not saying it hasn't happened, but its not all that common or Ford would have put out a recall.
