To make a long story short. I'm looking to shut down a few people at the strip in the next few months, I currently am looking to do this to a 90 F-150. I have a 255LPH pump and am still with the stock injectors, when this time comes I intend to put 24 LB injectors on this truck with the 460 ECM basically so I don't have to worry about anything tapping out with fueling if I do anything else upgrade wise to the engine before this.
But I'm trying to find a good wet kit, my goal is 100 shot and I'd like to use the extra NPT fitting that is in the intake for feeding it all, I'd much rather not do a plate system since I'll tear most of it off later for street driving, nor do I know if the plates that exist will bolt up to the EFI intakes the truck came with.
I'm not looking to blow it up the first two passes, I want to make a few good passes for fun and to prove a few points then call it good for a while and keep driving this engine for awhile. Everything in this engine is stock currently. No major work on the inside.
A 100 shot wet kit will definitely make a difference. You will need a good drag radial or slick to make the added power stick to the ground and you may need to add some traction bars to keep the wheel hop to a minimum so it doesn't hop and break something in the driveline.
You don't really need to change the ECU's out though, just raise the fuel pressure, buy a fuel pressure gauge and a wideband. The price may be a little steep for all these pieces, but they're much cheaper than a rebuild. Good luck.
