Dash "Brake" indicator light malfunction
The brake indicator light on my 2000 is not functioning properly. It is not illuminated when the parking brake is on. When the ignition is on it does not turn on either, but when the truck is started it turns on for one second. Anyone had this issue?

so the switch did the trick but now I can't get the darn brake to push the switch in. Is there an adjustment so the brake release snugs the rubber pad all the way up to the switch. i am stuck throwing cardboard in there to fill the space in between. I also tried sticking a pad on the bumper, and screwing in a large headed bolt. Nothing depresses the switch enough.
maybe there is a better switch that has a longer head? My Napa part only protrudes down like about a 1/4 inch, and is only the size of a pencil eraser.
