emergency brake light

the emergency brake light doesn't come on when the emergency brake is on. The light comes on when you turn the key on as normal so the bulb is good.I have looked around the emergency brake to see if a wire is off but cnat see anything.Does anyone have any ideas to what could be wrong. The truck is 1983 F150. Thanks Johnboy

I would say the switch is bad.or there is no ground thru switch.It grounds out when switch is closed so its a normally open switch. I hope this helps.
