Sweet.. Gonna pull it. There is another doohickey in there that I'm sure you're going to get a kick out of ( I hope so anyway because I have no idea what it is). I'll get pics tomorrow when I'm installing all this other stuff. You are a hero.

Is that some kind of water injection setup?

+1 on getting rid of that filter.

Alright guys, what is this all hooked up to?

So this is attached right under the hood

Here you can see the wiring. It dips below that but runs to the fuse on the right

Here is the fuse

This box is the source of the clear tubing and a black ground cable that has an end just hanging out by the battery. Ideas?

Ampmeter is wired to a circuit breaker and feeding a relay, the black wire (terminal #87 ) Is the wire that powers the accessory

Back to your air filter..... judging by the amount of dirt covering everything in that engine bay that Ex has seen its fair share of dirt roads. Hopefully that air filter is a very recent addition.

I'll second the hillbilly injection setup for that tubing....

Yeah, it has been through a lot. I've got a lot of cleaning to do and I'm just going to assume I'll need a rebuild in the not so distant future. I'll have to figure out what the accessory is. I have a toggle switch in the cab but it does nothing that I can tell.

Ordering the air filter from RRD (Clay, you seeing this? Expedite me! lol) this week.

My guess is the black wire off the relay went to a water/methanol injection pump that has been removed.

Put a volt meter to it and hit the switch

The first thing I would do is yank all that crap out! My truck was basically untouched under the hood when I got it except for a K&N drop-in filter which quickly got thrown in the trash. I hate having to clean up previous owners' messes.

Working on that. Just to be clear, that box in the pictures about that has the wire running to it and the clear tubing, isn't stock either? I'm pulling it all out later tonight. I've got a ton of work cleaning up the bay so might as well start there.

There is no clear tubing under the hood of my truck. I can't really see that last picture very well though. I think you went a little overboard on the resizing.

Lol, oops. Well I went ahead and redid it and circle the box. It is pretty far down on the firewall on the drivers side. If it isn't anything stock, I'll pull everything going to it. Just a couple wires that I havent traced yet.

With that larger picture I am seeing wires going to that tank, can't tell for sure but it looks like a red wire covered in grime and possibly going to that replay.

I still guess the previous owner made their own water injection setup using that tank with a pump in it ?

Either way it is not stock.
