Hi, newby here from the UK.
I'm looking to buy a '58, '59, or '60 F100 styleside truck.
One question I have.
If I'm not mistaken on any given model year there seems to be two styles of rear window. One smaller one and then one that wraps around the sides to behind the doors.
Was this an option on the trucks and, if so, what is the bigger window known as? Was the bigger window available on all third generation trucks?
I prefer the look of the wrap round window as it gives the cab an airier look.
Any info much appreciated. TIA Chris
As far as I know, the wraparound glass was part of the "Custom Cab" package. If it was available as a standalone option, perhaps someone else could chime in with that information.
Rust was a huge problem during those years so look for an original (so you can see what you have) or have inspected for proper repairs.
Thanks Lou. Ah yes, the 'Custom Cab' option would make sense. I'll look back over all the pictures I've drooled over and see if that theory checks out. Cheers!
I think the big window is it's own option. Lots (most) custom cabs are not the big window. Big window trucks are actually fairly scarce, maybe 5% of the trucks we see

That makes sense and would explain why the weatherstrips are available with and without the slot for the stainless trim for both style rear windows. I know, mostly, from what I have which is a Custom Cab, stainless trimmed, wraparound rear window.
