I've just bought a '62 with the wrap-around rear window. What is the 'official' name for this body style, or what is thebest way to google for info on it?
Also, has anyone tried grafing this window onto a cab with the flat window?
Not sure what Ford called this option, most here call it a big back window. Many people yack about rare trucks and most of that is just so much bull. You however have bragging rights. The big window unibody trucks are fairly rare. Short bed unibody with the big window are even rarer. It would be a shame in my opinion to hack one of these up just to move the window. It has been done quite a bit by people on this site, usually using unibodys that were otherwise beyond repair. I see this is your first post. So welcome to FTE!
I agree; not as common to find someone wanting to remove a big glass window for a standard flat glass; you'll have to cut alot of the metal and fill in alot more than you think.
Oh; Welcome aboard.
Thanks to all who responded. Ufortunately the truck with the window is beyond repair, except for the window! and some bits and peices. I think it is unusual enuf that I want to preserve it, and will graft it onto a shortbed 62 model that is in much better shape. I'll post some pix of the two as the work progresses.
