I'm having a little trouble id'ing a c6 I had come with a motor, how do you ID a c6 for the different tooth count on the flywheel? I'm 90 percent positive that the transmission is 164 tooth, but I can't find any solid info to ID it.
i know the C6 that I pulled out of my 79 is a 164, I figured the 64 on the bellhousing is what denotes it but the other tranny made me reconsider. It says 61. So far the numbers I could make out on the trim tag at the servo is E3TP DB. So common sense tells me it's an 83 truck tranny. But that's where it ends and why I'm 90 percent sure it's a 164. So who knows how to tell the difference?
I looked up the flex plate for an '83 F250 on Rock Auto, it shows 164 tooth flywheel for the C6
ATP Z161 {#D9TZ6375A} Info
Teeth 164; Outer Diameter 14.23"
(The numbers cast into the bellhousing of the transmission don't have anything to do with the number of teeth on the flexplate.)
