New member here just trying to get accessorized. Lol. I found a great deal on one for a 2015 and I noticed it is a half inch longer than the 2017. Anyone know if this will work? I appreciate any help. Loving this site so far....a lot of knowledgeable memebers.
When you go to their website and start punching in years and such it changes size from previous 16 to 17's. It says the 17's are a half inch shorter.
Welcome to the forum! I'm guessing you must be looking at a cover for a Super Duty which is all-new for 2017. The bed length changed slightly, but more significantly the bed width changed. Through 2016 the bed was tapered and became quite a bit wider toward the cab. The new 2017 bed is parallel front-to-back so is narrower overall.
The same Peragon panel assembly will fit a 2016 or 2017, but our guide rails and mounting brackets changed. Depending on how good the deal you found is, you could potentially order new rails and brackets from us (~$210) and still come out ahead.
At the risk of confusing things, you *could* technically install a 2016 cover/rails on the new 2017 and it would work fine. The outer edge of our rails would just be angled outward, looking a little off on your 2017. If you're not too OCD, you may be perfectly happy with it. Then you'd just need to order new mounting brackets from us.
I hope that helps!

Helps a ton Heath. I appreciate the quick response. If you could pm the price on the quick release mounts I would greatly appreciate it.

You bet! The Quick Clamps would be $49 plus $13 shipping, $62 total. We make up the taper on the 2016 by machining the outside edge of our extruded guide rails to angle outward toward the cab, following the taper of the Ford bed. However, the inside edges of our guide rails are always parallel to each other and are the same distance apart on both the 2016 and 2017 models. So that is how the same Peragon panel assembly will fit either year, but the outside edge of the guide rails changes to follow the different bed shapes.

Perfect! Let me purchase the cover first (meeting tonight). I will order the brackets tomorrow. Once I get it mounted and see how "off" the rails are I might be ordering the 2017 rails from ya. Can I just order the brackets from you on here or go to the website? Thanks for all the help!!

I'm fairly new to Ford forums so I gotta say- that right there is one d**n nice cover!! If'n I weren't broke......
My Peragon cover has been on my truck now about six years. Nothing but accolades fort his fine piece of craftsmanship and those who actually build and sell it. Great company operated by great folks.
