oil change

Is there a crush washer on the oil pan drain plug that needs to be replaced when changing the oil?

I didn't see one when I did the first change a few weeks ago. My old Land Rover has one and always forget to order one when I buy filters. PITA

My old Land Rover has one too - 1973 Series III. I guess the Ford drain plug has a rubber seal integrated into it. My son's Fusion is like that, as I recall.

Good to get this info on oil specs and filter part number. I plan to do an oil change at 1000 miles and want to be ready.

Gotta get the darn truck first. Estimated delivery date 41 days away...

the ford drain plug uses an O-ring seated into the factory drain plug.

I recommend installing a quick drain valve and never have to work with a wrench (other than the oil filter wrench) again.
