Room For Genny?

Got an F250 CCSB Lariat on order. I'd like to install a sliding tonneau cover, preferably the Truck Covers USA American Roll Cover.

The truck will be towing a travel trailer, and the generator I've got for the trailer is a Briggs & Stratton 3000 watt unit, specifically this one:
https://www.briggsandstratton.com/na...rt-series.html

The concern I have is that the specs for the genny say it's 21" tall. There are not many published specs for the pickup bed, but I found one that says it's 21.1" tall. I'll be getting the Ford spray in bed liner. Don't have a truck available to measure yet to see what the available height really is.

Will there be room under the tonneau cover? Will the cover work rolling over a hump that's slightly higher than the sides of the bed? If not, is there another cover that will fit over the generator? Prefer a rolling hard cover.

I was going to order the roll cover so it'd be here when the truck arrives, but I'm having some second thoughts....

Anyone got that cover who could measure the available space under it?

Thanks!

I have 4 section folding cover from Ford (rebranded Bak MX4) and I have 19 3/8" of usable space underneath it. I had to buy a smaller cooler to accommodate this fact.

Thanks Nick. I guess I'll have to actually measure the generator height and wheel width. Perhaps if the wheels go down into the low points of the truck bed ribs I'll gain a bit of space...... And if pigs could fly...

Will do. Thanks!

If you get a chance, please measure from the underside of yours to the lowest point of the bed.

I think he means MX4 and it should be identical to the one I have.

Just got home from vacation and was finally able to actually measure the generator. Despite the specs for the unit saying it's 21" tall it's really only 19.75" tall. They must have been measuring the box it came in.

So.... I think it should fit. Since it's a Truck Covers USA Roll Cover that I'm currently considering I've e-mailed them to ask, just to play it safe.

Thanks for all the feedback. This forum is great. Can't wait to actually get my truck!
