Timbrens

Anyone running them on a '17 yet?

I really like my 350. My only real complaint about it is the way it handles my fifth wheel (12-13k lbs. fully loaded) on rough roads. I get a lot of bounce in the rear suspension. I never had this problem with my stock Ram 3500 (also SRW) pulling this fifth wheel.

After much reading and research, I'm thinking about giving the Timbrens a try. I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has them on their '17.

I have Timbrens on the 150. They're OK and do a job. But, they are not adjustable. Have you considered after market shock absorbers?

That IS the solution and its adjustable. Been running them on the past 3 F 350's and on my Jeeps for almost 20 years...

I've got a 2017 F350 4x4. I've got Timbrens on the FRONT axle to handle a 1000 pound snowplow. I had Timbrens on my previous truck also...they are the best.

Here's the best thing about Timbrens----THERE'S NO FOOLING AROUND adjusting them or inflating/deflating an air bag. Anything that's adjustable (air bags/shocks/etc)----you've got to remember to adjust before you apply the weight---then you have to remember again to re-adjust after the weight is off (or get your teeth jarred). Timbrens just silently do their thing. You don't have to adjust/change anything and you don't even know that they are there until you apply the weight. It's a very simple concept that works without a lot of fuss!

I tried Timbrens on my previous 2011 and I wouldn't buy them again unless I was driving fully loaded all the time. On the 2011 there was only 1/2" between the Timbrens and the stop. When driving unloaded there is virtually no give in the Timbrens so every tiny bump used up that 1/2" space and gave a very jarring ride. The 2017 might work better with them but from my experience I doubt it.

Totally agree. I had them on my 2014 F250. Wife noticed the difference first time she rode in the truck after I installed them. They helped out with the 5er but made everyday driving pretty rough.

X3 on Gary's experience. Very rough unloaded with the Timbrens. I'm installing TorkLift StableLoads this time around. They are at little tougher install on the 2017's due to having to drill the lower overload to install. But they are a very simple design compared to airbags and owners who've installed them on 17's have told me they do exactly what I'm looking for. Remove about 1.5" of sag and eliminate the bouncing in the rear while towing.

Drilling through Tempered Spring Steel aint easy and you have to keep it cool to retain the Temper.

Yep, I got 90% of the way through the first hole and gave up on the included Cobalt bits a while back. Going to see what I can find that's a little tougher.

Pull The jack plate out of the pack and take to a spring shop they should have a center bolt punch, doubt they will charge you. They will have a new center bolts their also, couple bucks.

Anytime your dealing with Parabolic Steel it's kinda dangerous. Straight steel is no problem. Parabolic will shatter/Split

Henderickson is the leader
Hendrickson’s unique manufacturing technology revolutionized leaf spring performance. This proprietary technology allowed Hendrickson engineers to produce more efficient springs that reduce weight and improve ride performance and durability. Hendrickson rapidly advanced this technology, providing spring designs that reduce weight by as much as 70 percent over conventional multi-leaf (flat) springs. Today, Hendrickson has further advanced the “state-of-the-art” with additional weight and cost reductions, while taking another step forward in increasing strength and spring life.

Good info Skip! Thanks....

I wonder if Ferrara would drill my springs in the truck? I'd be happy to pay to avoid doing this myself. I'll have to call them tomorrow morning and see.
