I am also looking. Seems like retrax and American roll cover are both good options, both also offer models with integrated rails for racks etc. American roll has a cool integrated tool box if that is useful to you.

I’ve had several over the years, and I just installed the American Roll Cover from Truck Covers USA. I’m very impressed with the fit and quality of this cover. It’s not cheap but it’s very good.

I just put a Peragon cover on, I like it. Do your research because seems to be quite a few quality tops out there.

Retrax pro is the best I've ever seen. Fastest to open and close, strong, great looking.

Ditto.

i ended up with a Peragon because it looks upscale, can be quickly removed for full bed access, and half the price of other metal retractable covers because they only sell factory direct.

They have a 20% off sale ending very soon,

Peragon sucks. It will make a warping sound when going down the highway. It also gets hot as hell in the summer. I found it very difficult to open and close.

If you want the best, go with the Pace Edwards. I had one on my F150 and got one now on my F250 long bed. I had them put a button in the cab so I don't have to fool with the remote. I like it because I can control it at any time, its locked whenever its closed, and it will stop at at interval. Its pricy at $2500, but I love it and will gladly pay for a nice cover.

Yeah, the old versions of the Peragon apparently rattled. New one certainly doesn’t, not a peep with my back window open.

Hot? It’s black metal. Like all retractables.

100 day 100% money back guarantee, figured I’d give it a shot. So far so good.

Yeah, the one I had on at first was bought in 2015. The only reason I complained about the heat is with a Peragon, you have to press on it to open it. I would have to carry gloves or a towel. Sometimes, it took one person on each side to open it. With the PE, I don't have to touch it at all.

I installed a Pace Edwards in my F450. Very happy. It is not perfectly dry, but pretty close. Came with wiring that is high quality and ample length.

Attached 1 of the remotes to the Bed Rug with Velcro instead of the pricey remote switch. The other remote is kept in the cab. Used an always powered up-fitter switch location for power.

Every tonneau has its downsides. With the PE, for me, it would be very high price and inability to quickly remove from bed. For me, I’ll put up with some hot metal for those benefits.

I just put a Retrax Pro on my 2017 SB. First tonneau I’ve had since a lo pro flush mount on my 2001 Dakota R/T. Quality wise, I’d say second to none. Very high quality and the lifetime warranty is what sold me. Took about 45 minutes to install and I was going very slow.

Only con is about water. I know nothing is 100% waterproof so it was to be expected. Towards the rear of the bed on both sides, there is some water intrusion.

Ive had Extang soft covers for decades. Never had a problem. What are your experiences with their Tri fold?
