Got a crank no start in the 83 F250 (351W). Wanting to check my CPS. any one know what the ohms reading should be..getting .333 with meter set at 20k. And what number should I get when testing voltage? Its a 50$ part so I'd like to make sure it is bad before I put it on and it not fix the problem.
Thanks..its a magnetic sensor and everything I saw online told me to use a multimeter set to AC and move something metal in front of it. The info was not specific to my truck but there is not much on the EEC-III in my manuals and nothing on a CPS. So i did the test and got nothing.. then tested with sensor on the truck, cranked the engine, still got nothing.
I ordered the part and am going to test mine against the new one in the store when it comes in.
Thanks for all the good info...I got a new one in and it read a bit higher resistance but I could not get the new one to emit a voltage so I'm guessing mine is fine..so I kept my old one.

Were you able to verify the 9 Volt Ref @ the connector?
