well it started out when I started my truck, it would idle normal for a few sec. than rough, than normal etc. etc. I tried driving & had no power. I pugged in a code reader & said the camshaft position sensor. I bought a new sensor, installed it, the truck would not start. Not getting any fuel. Re-installed old sensor it started.
I returned the sensor & got a new 1, thinking bad sensor. Well, I installed the new sensor & same thing, it will not start, again seems like it is not getting fuel.
Sure hope someone can help.
Where are you getting you CPS from? They giving you the right one? Sounds like you are still having a CPS problem if you can put the old one it and it fires right up.
I actually got it from an Case International tractor store localy for 100 bucks, they may have it at any heavy equipment store. One thing is for sure, the new CPS is not working for you, it may not be sending a strong enough signal, and the symptoms you have with your old one is exactly what happened with my truck.
Call around to any heavy equipment/ parts store with this part # maybe you will get lucky [IHC#1807339C92]
take a real close look at the length of both sensors side by side, I have heard a rumor that the late model 97 and up went to a little bit longer CPS, almost not noticible dont even quote me on that though
