Torque Pro Restart

Anybody know if Torque Pro has to be restarted each time I start my truck for live data? That's the only way I can get it to connect. Once the truck shuts down it loses connection which I get, but when I start it back up it won't connect unless I restart Torque Pro.

Subscribing, but I can't offer an answer for you. I'm also glad you asked the question because I'm considering selling my '02 7.3 and moving into a'07 6.0, and have been wondering if the TorquePro platform was being used by the 6.0 crowd.

So even when you shut your truck down, the adapter should stay connected, just the little vehicle symbol should be flashing. Is that the way yours acts?

Mine reconnects on restart, unless I have pulled the adapter. I did have my first adapter do flaky things like you are describing: it both would stop talking to the phone as well as not be able to send the data reliably. Got a replacement unit and all has been fine since. Mine is a bluetooth adapter.

I glanced through some of the settings to see if there was anything you might try changing, but didn't see anything obvious... I guess it could be a droid side setting.

Tell us what Torque thinks it is connected to on restart (the icons up in the corner, or look at adapter status).

Are you using bluetooth or wifi and what kind of adapter do you have?

This is the adapter:

Amazon Amazon

Running it on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A using blutooth. When I restart the truck the ECU connection is orange in the icons and it won't connect. When I shut the truck off it disconnects right away, but I thought that was normal because power to the ECU is cut, correct? Maybe it has something to do with my auto start/alarm install? At least I know now that it doesn't do it for everybody. I thought maybe it was just something to deal with.

Those are pretty reliable adapters. And I assume your tablet has no power conservation anything going on (like you have it plugged into the cigar power?).

I know my adapter stays powered up with key off, don't remember for sure if that is part of the lighting convenience thing (keeps power on for 5 minutes), but it seems early on I checked the adapter like the next day and it was warm.

Hmmm. You don't have to pay again to install Torque Pro on another 'Droid device, as long as they are linked to the same Gmail. Do you have another device you could load up to test?

Mine has been the same across two phones, but they are both Motorola/Verizon Droid Razr and now Turbo -- I do know there are variations in the various implementations of Android across manufacturers, but I thought Samsung was one of the ones that kept the OS pretty clean...

I almost always have my phone plugged in to external power too, btw...

Wish I could be of more help...
