Tugly pointed me towards Bluestacks as an Android emulator for Windows so I decided to give it a go and see what we could get done and installed it onto a Microsoft surface pro 3 got torque loaded up and then ran into the issue
So as far as my research goes bluestacks is lacking Bluetooth support so I am trying to find a work around for the Bluetooth ODBII adapter.
Anyone have any luck with this setup or know a work around?
Currently looking into com to tcp redirection to try and redirect the bluetooth communications on the win side to the local IP and point the torque app towards that.
Trying to not have to buy another ODBII wifi version.
Ok so I spent most of the night messing around with different options trying to get this to work to no avail. I confirmed with one of the developers for Blue Stacks that they do not support Bluetooth and do not have any intentions to do so.
I have been scouring the internet for emulators that do support Bluetooth communications and have not been able to come up with anything that is reliable.
Does anyone have any other ideas as I am starting to run low.
Do you have an Android phone? It's a little cheesy, but maybe Torque can share the connection via IP. The only thing you gain from this cobble is a bigger screen.
One could work out a BT/WiFi adapter, but the OBDII WiFi adapter would be simpler. I've heard tell the OBDLink MX WiFi is flakey and I am planning to get one - so I don't know if I can swear to the reliability of going this way.
I'll see if I can contact one of my gurus on this.
