Bearings from a lifter... Motor is coming out. Looks like you might have caught it before it gernaded. You also likely need an oil pump

Much better. We need a t-shirt. Maybe a rear window sticker.

No forget the window sticker. Think of all the honks from the GM and Ram guys.

When we're passing them......

Lifter

if you don't mind, what is the history on the engine? Miles? Are you the original owner or 2nd? Oil type and Change intervals? Just starting to see more and more lifter issues creeping in to the 6.0 forum. Wondering if this is preventable or a matter of when (not if but when). We're there any symptoms that led you to open things up?

208k, third owner, has been studded, bulletproof egr, full banks system for years now.

Pulled it to get to the oil cooler from a high Delta. Have not cut the oil cooler open yet and honestly a freak I even saw them in there.

I just got it a month ago.... For a great price but still.

i am working to reach out to the original owner to find out what he knows about why it got studs and then I am going to pull the LPOP to check there. Oasis report shows 5 trips to the dealer- airbag in 07, batteries twice in 07 and 09, and EGR vavle and IPR in 2015. That's it. Kinda of odd for a 6.0

I lost the #4 intake lifter. The lifter ground down the cam lobe. Long story-short, it was long block time.

Take a magnet on a stick and pull the oil filter and run the magnet around the
bottom of where the filter sits and see if you pull up any fragments. They can
hied in the oil that stays in there in all the small places.

Pull the lp pump, if no damage yet you may be able to get away with a cam and lifters and a good cleaning.if it's wrecked it's long block time. When it gets in the lp pump it goes every where. I just finished an 06 E450 with #1 exhaust lifter bad. No bearings in pump, found them all in the pan . Basically got cam and lifters etc. Also had twin 2010 E350's a few years ago that got the intake pop and got long blocks. They broke 3 days apart at about 75k. But these are ambulances that get alot of idle time.
