You're asking the wrong guy. That's what Ford says they're called. At least my parts guy when I asked him.

More rusty junk followed me home today. I will be disassembling these rear brake backing plates and rear spindles. The rear spindles do not line up with the drum brake axle flange. There is a shadow of the correct axle flange that was left behind. I will have a new flange fabricated to replace the old axle flange.

Here is the booster and master cylinder back together.

I will be working on getting the axle flange reworked to accept the larger disc brake knuckle. I noticed that the disc brake mounting parts are more robust than the drum brake parts. Pics to compare coming soon.

Hydraulic hoses came and are now on the spindles. Wheel speed sensors are next, but I have to get off of strike and back to work.

Sorry for no updates recently. Money is tight when you're on strike.

Ok so I got the flanges off of the axle in the junkyard. My 8.8 will be going to the machine shop to have them adapted on.

The plan is to cut the smaller drum brake flange off of the 8.8 and then remove the axle tube off of the flanges from the junkyard. Then the new flanges will be welded back onto the axle so the disc brakes can be assembled.

I have decided to discontinue updating this, since there seems to be no interest.
