Weird sticky throttle issue
As a refresher, i recently acquired a 1990 Supercab F150 (not sure if its actually a supercab, thats what my ins. co classifies it as lol), with the venerable 300 inline 6. Dependable motor no doubt, but its not without its problems. The biggest is that when the truck starts to get hot (like sitting in traffic, or even if its been shut off for a short time), the throttle likes to stick anywhere between 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, and will snap back to idle if you quickly put the pedal on the floor and then release it. However, the next time you go to use it (taking off from a stop light), it sticks again
My truck does have cruise control on it, but its not functional and apparently not even hooked up right now, so I don't think its causing the throttle to hang open. Any ideas what might be causing this? I was about to take the throttle linkage itself apart and clean off any rust or debris i found, then slather it with grease

I never thought about the cable, because the pedal seemed to be springing back when the throttle would stick, but then again it usually does it to me at stoplights, so reaching down to pull the pedal back isn't conducive to not hitting people
. It makes sense though, given i sprayed the throttle linkage down with PB Blaster and silicone grease to break up any debris and lubricate everythingI'll try letting the truck warm up in my driveway until its warm enough, then see what happens when the throttle sticks. If its not the cable, what indications should i look for on the throttle body?
